The apartment is a handy, functional base for exploring, and the shower, bed, air conditioning, and cleanliness were all great. Gabrielle was a great host, answered questions, and let me check in early. The location makes it easy to reach the port for ferries to the Egadi Islands, the bus for the Erice cable car, and the train and main bus stations for Segesta. There are grocery, vegetable, and fish stalls nearby, though you have to look around, and the neighborhood has a local feel. I felt very safe, but it's a working class area and can be noisy. The kitchen is basic, and the apartment isn't much of a place to relax in. The long flights of stairs up to the third floor were the real problem, especially hauling bags. As a 60 year old solo traveler, I can't manage that anymore. It's perfect if you're young.

Entering by code was super convenient and efficient, with no need to speak with the owner. The property was beautiful, spotless, and everything was in order, from the tablecloths to the kitchen and bathroom. The bed was comfortable, with double pillows, and there were beach towels and two cold bottles of water in the fridge. It also had a washing machine, microwave, and coffee maker with capsules. The location was perfect, especially with the ferry port just steps away if you're going to Favignana. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Very, very satisfied.
