Antica Corte Delle Ninfee

We felt welcomed like friends, with so much warmth and care. Luna offered delicious, tempting sweets from what she said was the best pastry shop in Trapani. The flower-filled courtyard was a lovely place to relax, read, send a work email, or talk in the shade. Antica Corte delle Ninfee has a special atmosphere where history and culture meet the quiet of the garden, while still offering all the comforts. Our dog Noce was welcome too, and can attest to how pet-friendly it is. It’s more than a beautiful historic residence, and a memory we’ll cherish forever.

The owner is extremely kind, and there’s an artisanal pastry shop just steps away to sweeten your day. The former convent has been renovated into small apartments while keeping its original interiors and style, and a beautiful garden is waiting outside. It’s a great base for Trapani’s city center, five minutes on foot from both public parking and the pedestrian area. Despite being so central, it’s quiet and peaceful. I’ve stayed in many places in Sicily, but this is one of the best. Superlative, really.

I stayed here at the end of April. The old convent has been renovated into three or four independent apartments, all large, clean, and equipped with what you need. From the property, it’s a five-minute walk to the center of Trapani, with bars and restaurants nearby, and the ferries to the islands are easy to get to. A wonderful place.

The very kind owner, Mrs. Luna, told us about her fascinating personal history and the building’s past as an ancient monastery where nuns cared for abandoned children. It’s now a splendid B&B and a peaceful spot for a relaxing holiday. We visited for a special opening during the Vie dei Tesori, and found it extraordinary, right in the heart of the historic center.
