The building is lovely, the rooms were clean, and there’s great parking nearby. The staff were friendly, but attention to detail was missing. I told the receptionist that my fiancé had proposed before our visit, and had also written about it, yet nothing special was arranged. When they helped me call a cheese factory to book a tour, it was closed that day, and they didn’t offer to try another date. They then suggested Tonnario Scopello, but that was closed for the day too. We could hear people talking in the corridor through the room doors. It didn’t bother us, but it’s useful to know. If you work in hospitality, I’d expect some help making a special occasion feel special. For a regular holiday this is an OK place, but I wouldn’t recommend celebrating anything here. I expected more from somewhere like this.

The building has been beautifully restored, with some lovely historic rooms and classic corridors. Our superior twin, room 215, was very large with high ceilings, and had a spacious bathroom with a rain shower. We stayed for two nights in mid-November. Breakfast was more than enough, even with few guests around. We had little traffic noise because our room faced a side street, even with the bathroom window open. With the windows shut and air conditioning on, the street noise should be reduced enough on the busier sides as well. There are plenty of restaurants close by and the hotel is near the old centre. Parking is available in a large lot, as other travelers mention. It costs 0,70 € per hour from 8.00 until 20.00 hours, and in spring and summer it is 1€ per hour until midnight. Bring coins, as that’s all they take.

It’s a good hotel in a busy area, so if you want peace and quiet, look elsewhere. The main road is nearby, and festivals and parties are often going on around there. Our first night was really loud, and traffic was easy to hear on the following nights. The rooms themselves were good and clean. Just remember you’re staying in an old palace. Breakfast was OK, somewhere between the best and worst we’ve had. The women at reception sometimes seemed a little disappointed, but that’s life. On Viale Regina Margherita you can park for 1-1,50 Euro per hour, about 10 Euro a day in the off season. You have to visit Cafe FronteVilla!!
