Parco Vesevus

They made getting around easy, driving us and picking us up wherever we went, so we didn’t need to find taxis or arrange rides back and forth. Everyone was extremely pleasant and sweet. The staff also cooked amazing breakfasts and suggested good dinner places that tourists often miss. The hotel is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful, right in front of Vesuvio. From the balcony, you can see Mt. Vesuvius one way and the whole Gulf of Amalfi and Capri the other. You won't be disappointed staying here.

The breakfast was stale, and the staff didn't speak English. The restaurant at the hotel was closed, and the website's pictures of the water fountain seemed to show how things used to be. The pool was meant to have a lovely waterfall, but it was dry, and the water looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Cigarette butts and a chair were floating in it. The hotel surroundings are okay, and I can imagine the place was once wonderful, but that isn't how it feels now. Outside the walls, everything is trash, with closed restaurants and abandoned houses, and it didn't feel friendly or inviting at all. Also, the road up Vesuvia is closed because of a huge fire years ago. I wasn't very satisfied with the place.

The hotel sits high at the end of the street on Mount Vesuvius, just before the hiking trail starts. From there, you can look over the city and coast below, as well as the mountains on the other side of the bay. I stopped to ask for directions. The man at the help desk didn't speak much English, but he still helped us out and gave us directions.

The location suited me really well. There weren't many guests at the hotel, so it was quiet.
