We stayed four nights at Casa Sulla Laguna Castello in Venice, IT, and loved it. Our host Claudio was charming and helpful. The renovated rooms and ensuites sit inside a centuries-old building on a quiet Calle in the Arsenale neighborhood. The beds were comfortable, and with several working windows and pretty shutters, we could make the room as bright or dark as we liked. There’s air conditioning, though we didn’t need it in late September. The bathroom had a lovely shower, bidet, and towel heater. Arsenale has piazzas and restaurants in both directions, and the Grand Canal and a waterbus stop are a 90-second walk away. An unlimited waterbus pass for your stay is worth it. San Marco’s piazza is about 10 minutes away. Venice is magical to explore, and this was a perfect place to stay.

Claudio greeted us and was so friendly and helpful. He’d ask how we were doing each day and made us feel welcome, and he was happy to suggest restaurants, bars, sights, and transport options. The recently renovated rooms are beautifully decorated and very spacious. We had the top floor room; if mobility is an issue, there’s a chairlift on the stairs. The place feels removed from Venice’s main crowds, though San Marco is an easy walk away and there’s plenty around. The accommodations are attractive and comfortable, and it’s easy to reach the Arsenale vaporetto stop, with connections straight from the train station or airport. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

The room was comfortable, very clean, and well equipped. Staff were professional and respectful, and the service was efficient and good. I really enjoyed staying here and recommend it.

Everything was comfortable and clean, and Claudio was a wonderful host. He also pointed out the local places he recommends.

The hot water pressure was surprisingly good for an old building, and the room was great. We paid Claudio directly. Rooms aren’t serviced during your stay, which didn’t bother me. The place is also really well located for the Venice Biennale, with both sites close by. I think it’s worth going just to see inside the Arsanale boat building district, it’s incredible. We were glad we stayed here, and getting there after a late airport arrival was easy. It’s not far from the Arsanale boat stop.
