This is a lovely base for unwinding and exploring around Mount Etna. Our host was easy to deal with and offered really helpful tips about the area. I only wish we'd had more time to enjoy the property itself instead of spending so much of the trip driving to attractions around Sicily.

You can really experience Etna here, with fantastic views of the volcano's craters and the sea coast. The classic Sicilian design lets you settle into the local way of life, and the eco-friendly house blends into the island's greenery. A lovely house with a beautiful view.

We ended up sleeping outside all night and had to find somewhere else to stay for the whole week. We lost half the money we had saved for the trip. We had booked Casa Clò with a group of friends and did tell them on the day that we'd be late, after our arrival time slipped to around 2:00 AM. We called several times but got no answer. When we reached the house, the booking had already been cancelled. Elio, the host, told us we weren't welcome anymore because we hadn't introduced ourselves. We should have given our arrival time earlier, but that wasn't listed as a booking.com requirement and nobody had asked us to do it. Wouldn't recommend.
