Casa Nicolini

We loved starting breakfast on the lobby terrace, looking out over the vineyards and village of Barbaresco. The spread was varied and wonderful. Casa Nicolini is a real gem among the rare vineyards here, with spacious, carefully designed rooms, air conditioning and comfortable beds. The staff give guests personal, dedicated service. There are two pools, including one with a fantastic jacuzzi. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant were excellent, with classic local dishes, high quality and great prices. The impressive wine room holds a large selection of Barbaresco and Barolo at very good prices. A memorable hospitality experience, highly recommended!

The property and its thoughtful service really impressed us, and the food was lip-smacking. The panoramic view is stunning, and the hotel sits right in the middle of wine country. We were there for a wedding anniversary party and had a memorable meal at their Michelin Star Restuarant, Ris Visione. I usually prefer non-vegetarian dishes, but the vegetarian options were delicious too, so give them a try.

We only had two nights, but the staff made the whole stay wonderful. The sommelier's wine knowledge, recommendations and selection were excellent, and the food was really good, especially the ravioli. We'll absolutely be back.

The view and location are magnificent, but I wouldn't return. The rooms are dated and very noisy, with hallway conversations easy to hear, and the beds felt too short for me at 1.80m. I've stayed in the region for over 20 years and know hotels and B&Bs that offer much better value. We had dinner on arrival. The view was nice, but the food was mediocre, and there are much better meals to be had nearby for the same price.
