The accommodation worked really well for the three couples, with each couple getting their own bedroom and bathroom. You’re also close to Alba, where there are some very high-quality restaurants. But the views are what got me: vineyards in every direction, plus the Italian Alps. I keep thinking I’d like to retire here. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the region.

The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals, and the vineyard right in the front yard was especially lovely during harvest. It’s a beautiful house in the hills of the Piedmont region of France. Finding it takes some care with the GPS, since it’s remote and up a winding hill, but the effort is worth it. This is an amazing part of the world that everybody should visit.

Even in winter, the view across the Langhe hills is beautiful. We felt at home thanks to Signora Giovanna, who was welcoming and ready to help with anything we needed. The renovated house is furnished with real care and good taste, and the kitchen has everything for cooking, including a more elaborate meal. We really enjoyed staying at Cascina Bricchetto and can highly recommend it.

We were there with two young children, who had plenty to play with and explore. The countryside around Cascina Bricchetto is beautiful, and the house made for a wonderful stay. Our hostess was lovely and helped us with anything we wanted, even bringing fresh fruit and vegetables from her garden. A great choice for a relaxing holiday in the countryside.

The road up is narrow and winding, so keep that in mind if that might be difficult for you. Once there, we loved the spot on the hill, with vineyards and the Alps spread out below, and we were close to some wonderful wine tours. Giovanna knows the area and her estate so well, and shared helpful recommendations. She also introduced us to Bricch (sp), her canine best friend. This dog often walked and ran with us, or sat by our side, and we grew very fond of him. Giovanna is incredibly sweet and has worked hard to share her dream. She does have some rules, but they felt reasonable and meant to protect her heritage and hard work. Our family of four, including our two young adult children, had a peaceful, restorative stay full of history. It was one of the most breathtaking stops on our trip to Italy.
