Hotel Sporting Trento

The manager on duty was very pleasant, helpful, and friendly, and breakfast was included and pretty good. It’s a handy stop for a night when driving north or south, with a great location close to the highway.

We found ants in both rooms. In the first, they were crawling over the desk and under the wardrobe. The staff didn’t seem to think it was a problem, but moved us. Then the second room had ants all over the bathroom. We were refused a refund and weren’t offered another room. The hotel isn’t clean or well maintained, and it clearly has an ant problem. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We asked for a mountain view and got one. It was really nice. There’s plenty of free parking, and check-in was quick and smooth. The room was normal, with carpet flooring, a big bed, and a good, clean bathroom. It was good to have AC, though we were a bit cold at night since the maximum setting is 23C. We stayed for two nights in November with my wife. The hotel is right by the highway, but about a 30-minute walk from the city center. If you’re going into town, it’s probably better to take the car. The road looks normal but is a bit dark, and the first stretch seemed somewhat abandoned.

Parking was very easy, and it’s near the river for a walk as well as relatively close to the town center. The room was clean and a good size, with friendly service. The bathroom seems to have been renovated recently. Breakfast wasn’t the best, but good enough. I’d put it at 3.7 stars if that were an option, so a 4 feels fairer than giving it 3. It’s fine for spending a few nights in town.
