The location is the one thing that makes the price understandable. This isn’t really a hotel, and certainly not a four-star one as advertised on Booking. The room was spacious and seemed clean, but the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, especially the pillows. The air conditioning was very loud and kept sounding as if it was failing. There’s nobody available to help with problems after 8 p.m., or between 12:30 and 14:00. The Wi-Fi was basically unusable.

We chose the most expensive room, at a 200€ daily rate, with a lovely terrace and a suite, and we don’t regret it. It was a great stay and we’d definitely return. The apartments are upscale and well maintained, with great service: they send useful details in advance and respond quickly. The front desk and cleaning staff were friendly. The location is the best in Treviso. The only drawback was the two-hour lunch closure, although they stayed open until 8 p.m. They couldn’t offer a half-day rate because of their cleaning schedule. That’s why I’m giving four stars instead of five.

I chose this guest house for its view and was more than pleased. From the room you can see Piazza dei Signori and the Clock Tower, right in the heart of the city. The room itself was beautifully and modernly designed, with Treviso and regional guides, photography, and literature books. The staff were extremely helpful, spoke great English, and were kind. There’s no breakfast offered, but the square is full of cafés and restaurants. Be aware that the guest house is NOT ACCESSIBLE: it’s on the third floor and there’s no elevator.

The location is great, but it doesn’t come close to justifying the outrageous room price. If this is a four-star hotel, then I’m Monica Bellucci. The price is about the only thing this improvised setup has in common with a four-star place. There’s no official entrance, lobby, common area, or available facilities. It felt more like indoor camping than a decent room for adults. The building is very old, with a strange musty smell, and the fake electric diffusers they use probably make it worse. The elevator is so tiny that you have to choose between taking it yourself or sending your luggage, not an easy call when there are so many stairs. The room looked thrown together at a Boy Scouts summer camp. The furniture was light and unstable, and the toothbrush holder even fell off the wall overnight. Nothing was comfortable. The bed was probably the worst part, with the base of a folding bed and a weird, semi-fluffy mattress. It was noisy and creaky, so we had to stay still at night. We made it through the night, then had trouble with the shower too. It was a small plastic tube in the middle of the room, unlike anything I’d seen in a hotel, with virtually no water pressure. The shower and toilet had no windows, and the room smelled damp. I strongly recommend finding somewhere better. I really regret not doing that myself.
