I’m back for my second stay, and the impression is still amazing. The rooms look a little dated, but they were completely clean, everything worked, and the service was nice.

It feels like a real home, without anything fake about it. The Italians just being themselves is lovely. Great cappuccino and local sweets at breakfast made it a really nice experience. It’s only two minutes from the city center. I recommend it.

Being central was perfect for what I needed, and the reception and breakfast staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was a real letdown, though. It faced an inner courtyard where people stood right outside smoking and talking, and a dog barked constantly. I had to keep the curtains shut because people could look in, so there was no privacy. The shower cubicle was so small I couldn’t wash my back properly. I could also hear every door opening and closing while the cleaner was doing the rooms.

The location made it easy to explore the most interesting parts of the city, and the railway station is about a 10-minute walk, or a more leisurely 15 minutes. I really liked this almost boutique-style hotel. It blends modern updates with traditional Italian style. My room was a good size, spotless, with plenty of storage, a very comfortable bed, and a large en-suite shower room. Breakfast was a buffet with more than enough choice and food.
