Alessandro and Barbara were there for me in a difficult period, and I'll always hold Barbara's embrace close to my heart. I first stumbled across this place a year ago, and it quickly felt like home. I connected with both of them right away over shared views on life and socializing. Plenty of reviews already say the place is excellent, so I won't dwell on that. The real strength is Alessandro and Barbara. When people call it welcoming, believe me, they mean it.

The owner is incredibly kind and helpful, and his stories brought the local culture to life during our stay. The rooms are rustic but well looked after, with a real sense of history, tradition, love, and respect for the area. Be sure to look through the booklets the owners have written for guests. Breakfast was excellent.

Alessandro and his wife were so friendly and made us feel at home. The room was lovely, and the B&B is in a characterful local building that's been lovingly renovated, just a few kilometres from the Slovenian border. Breakfast was delicious, with different breads, jams, sweet and savoury food, homemade yoghurt, juices, and more. Alessandro's travel guides are a special extra.

Le Casite is a great base for exploring the area, and everything there is cared for down to the details, breakfast included. Alessandro and his wife's warmth and wit will keep you company, and I bet you'll leave having made new friends. But if you're in a rush, don't like animals, or only need somewhere to sleep, this isn't the place for you. Come for the chance to step into an older world, read, and learn about the history of the places you visit.

The rooms are rustic and welcoming, and the peaceful location between Trieste and the Karst is a great one. Breakfast is something you find yourself looking forward to in the morning. Best of all, Alessandro and Barbara know so much about their land and its people. They're a wonderful source of information if you want to understand the human side of Trieste and the Karst. Come for the places and you'll discover the people too. That's a rare, invaluable extra.
