Lo Scudiero Di San Teodoro

The setting is all pristine nature, with rivers, fields, and farms around you. Getting there the first time, follow Francesco's road directions, because the GPS may leave you stuck out in a field. The drive can be tricky in a sports car, but take it slowly and carefully and you should be fine. The rooms have the essentials and feel warm and comfortable, even in December when it's near freezing outside. Francesco and his team make fresh meals using local, seasonal ingredients. Lo Scudiero keeps exceeding our expectations, and given the chance, we'll definitely return.

We've been here a couple of times and are already looking forward to coming back. Francesco and Giselle make wonderful hosts, and this little Nebrodi hideaway feels like home. The food is divine. For us, it's the best place in Sicily, and we simply love it.

We usually make it to Francesco and Giselle's place twice a year, and we've lost track of the total visits. You can get there in a regular car by taking a slightly longer route, though a 4x4 is best. We keep coming back for the atmosphere, nature, excellent Sicilian food, and hospitality. We'll be booking again, and again.

The hosts are genuinely lovely, and their home-cooked food is amazing. I've stayed four times now. The accommodation is simple but clean. The road down is rough, though any vehicle can manage it with a bit of care. It's a favorite base for visiting Nebrodi, just a short drive from Pertella Femmina Morta.
