Wega Hotel

The room was large, with a comfortable bed and a good shower, and both the city center and train station are about a 10-minute walk away. But the service was poor: after we called about the toilet not working properly, nobody came to fix it. There are sensors in the room that kept turning lights on during the night. Breakfast was very basic, with little variety. The ice cream shop directly below the hotel was noisy until 1 p.m., so we had to sleep with earplugs even with the windows closed.

We stayed one night in late May at this new, basic hotel. It was quiet, comfortable, and spacious, about a 10-minute walk from Verona P.N. station and another 10 minutes to the arena. There was no proper seating, just window sills without cushions. I also found construction stickers and rubbish beneath the bathroom window, where there was a gap, and housekeeping hadn't checked that the bidet drain was fully open. After using it, the water took overnight to drain. The free tea and kettle were welcome in the rainy weather, but the kettle sat on the mini fridge. With only one socket there, we had to move the tray and kettle to an outlet on another wall. Breakfast was a standard buffet with breads, yogurt, cheese, scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, and ham. The ham shared a tray with the scrambled eggs, so as vegetarians we ate more at a nearby cafe and bought fruit from the grocery across the street. There is a reception desk, but when we returned late from dinner, nobody was there, so I'm not sure if it's staffed late at night.

The staff were kind and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and I liked being close to both the center and the train station.
