Il Cremino

Getting to Tropea by train was easy for us from South Tyrol in northern Italy. The journey took 10 hours and was comfortable, and we wish we could have stayed much longer. We spent our time discovering the area at il cremino, and would happily recommend about two weeks there, especially in our room. Our room had a small balcony where we enjoyed relaxing breakfasts and watched the sunset. There were enough dishes and pots for cooking, plus a coffee machine, some coffee, and salt. The location was great, away from the crowded center but still close enough, with a beautiful beach reachable in five minutes. The host antonio communicated well, was very nice, and drove us to and from the train station. There are two bikes, though they weren't always available. When we could use them, they were handy for getting around town, but riding beside fast traffic wasn't pleasant. The main downside is getting around on foot or by bike. You have to cross or follow the nearby road to reach both the beach and the city, and the cars go fast, so we didn't feel safe or welcome as pedestrians. Cycling there felt even less comfortable. The small path for pedestrians is damaged and sometimes disappears altogether. There didn't seem to be a bus stop, and public transport wasn't very good.

Michelino Beach is about 500 meters away, and the owner is friendly without being intrusive. The apartment has parking, air conditioning, and a TV, along with a double bed, kitchen, bathroom, and a lovely view from the terrace. It was spotless and well maintained. We had a great time and will definitely return.
