I booked the wrong date by mistake, and the hotel kept all my money without giving me a chance to move the reservation. I meant to book three weeks ahead but failed to notice I’d selected that same day. I realized the next day and contacted both booking.com and the hotel. After several attempts to change it to the date I actually wanted, someone at the hotel hung up on me. It was my error, and I would have been willing to pay for part of a room I never used. The hotel said they could have sold it that night, though I booked at 18:00, and I don’t think anyone else would have taken it. They also said they couldn’t help because booking.com had already processed everything and it couldn’t be refunded. Booking.com’s customer service was friendly, but put all the responsibility on the hotel. I called the hotel four times and booking.com three times. Neither offered any way to resolve it, and I was very disappointed with the extremely poor service from both. I’ll never stay at this hotel and I’m deleting the booking.com app.

The bed was so hard that I struggled to sleep, and I found a lot of insects underneath it. That left me questioning the hotel’s cleanliness and upkeep. The room was also very hot because the air conditioner didn’t work from the first day. There wasn’t a coffee or tea setup in the room either, a basic thing I expected from a 4-star hotel. The stay felt neglected and uncomfortable. I was very disappointed and won’t return or recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, quality stay.

The room was spacious, and the location works well if you’re driving, with free parking in the garage. Breakfast was stale on both mornings. There were mold marks in the bathroom, especially on the shower head.

Albergo Dei Laghi isn’t a luxury place, but the rooms are comfortable and the stay was pleasant. For what it costs, it’s good value and has what you need for a comfortable visit. A solid choice for travelers.

We stopped here overnight on the drive from Nice to Zurich. It’s right by the highway, and it was handy being able to park directly in front of our room to load and unload the car. The on-site restaurant was convenient and the food was good. Thanks for a great stay.
