Hotel Bologna

The location is really good, and that’s what brought me here, but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I was robbed in the Hotel Bologna lobby in broad daylight. My things disappeared while I was distracted for a minute, after several days travelling up and down Italy without any trouble. I thought I was safe inside a hotel lobby. There seemed to be no security, no warning about thefts, and no system such as CCTV. The receptionist was useless, and there wasn’t even an apology for a crime on their premises. They sent me to the Carabinieri. Honestly, spend your money elsewhere. The busy road outside made the room very noisy, with no apparent effort to reduce it. The pillow was horrible, and the room felt depressing and morbid. There was no hot water in the shower in December, and the excuse was the usual one: that it had never happened before. I’d go somewhere else.

My family and I stayed in a place that felt like a palace turned into a museum. Our room had a frescoed ceiling and a romantic balcony, and the girls at reception were all smiles. We even got a discount for the second night. Trams and buses go right to the hotel, though how regularly they run is another question.

The room was simple, clean, and had everything we needed. We stayed three nights and had a lovely time. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The room was the loveliest surprise when we arrived, full of charm with a work of art on the ceiling and a little balcony for enjoying the Torino lifestyle. The staff were wonderful and helpful as we stepped in from the harshness of city life. They cleaned every day, room service was impeccable, and the bottles of water waiting for us were a nice touch. Even the towels were extra soft. We’ve just stayed here and can’t recommend it highly enough. It feels like a hidden jewel in Turin. A very satisfied family from Ireland.
