Palazzo Bellini

The apartment itself is so peaceful and spacious, with a huge bathroom and the feel of a beautifully designed, eclectic palazzo. I arrived extremely late, but the owner stayed up to welcome me with a lovely smile. And Elsa made the B&B with her kindness and wonderful breakfast. Thanks again for being so patient with my late arrival. I’d gladly return.

We never ended up staying here. After hours on the road, we were left outside with our two young children because nobody was there to let us in. No one picked up the phone for 45 minutes. When someone finally answered, she said she’d emailed instructions for us to get in by ourselves, but no email had reached us. She tried to open the door remotely while we were on the call and kept telling us to pull it, though it wouldn’t open. The entry system and service were appalling. Eventually she came over, but couldn’t open the door either. We only got inside when another resident happened to be leaving. When we explained about the missing email, she insisted she had sent it and blamed Booking.com, telling us to take it up with them. She chose to operate the rooms this way. The accommodation we’d booked through Booking.com was for two adults and two children, with one double bed and two singles. Instead, she showed us two separate rooms and claimed they counted as one. One room wasn’t ready: she was looking for sheets, it hadn’t been cleaned, and the place was extremely dirty and unhygienic. She didn’t apologize to her guests. She kept blaming Booking.com and eventually told us to leave if we didn’t like the room. Her manner and the whole service were unacceptable. We left without staying, and she never returned our money or tried to find a solution. She sent a message apologizing for her rudeness, which is attached. The owner’s later replies are full of made-up excuses, including a claim that there was no electricity when we arrived at midday. That’s false: people were coming and going, the door worked, and we used the elevator when she eventually arrived, so there was power. She also screamed at us to leave, then invented stories about a “false alarm” and us disturbing other guests at 16:00. We did not arrive at night, and nobody would be asleep in the afternoon. Those accounts are fabrications. The neighborhood felt unsafe, which made an already uncomfortable situation worse. In all our years using booking.com, we’ve never had a host this terrible. She has no idea how to treat guests professionally. Beware: she lies to cover herself, refuses refunds, and treats guests with shocking disrespect. We absolutely don’t recommend this place.

Elsa was so kind and gentle, and did everything she could to make our stay special. Her delicious breakfast had lots of homemade sweets, too. The B&B is right in central Turin, and we were amazed by how beautiful and grand the place was. Thanks, Elsa, we have lovely memories of our weekend there.

The rooms were clean, and the center was about a 15-minute walk away. The breakfast lady was great and brought us everything we needed. The place itself is nice, but our check-in was a problem, and the woman we spoke to on the phone didn’t help. We had two rooms but only one air conditioner. For what they offer, I think the price is too high.
