We were left without a place to stay, and the way this was handled felt completely lacking in empathy. I can't recall a more unpleasant experience. If zero stars were an option, I'd choose that. This was appalling from both a human and professional standpoint. Our reservation followed the stated rules, including the 3:00-6:00 PM check-in window. I even bought train tickets to arrive within it. Train delays and a missed connection, both outside my control, pushed our arrival to 7:30 PM. Delays like this can happen, especially in a country where trains are often late. We contacted the host well ahead of time, but they said they'd make an “exception” and wait until 6:30 PM, even though they knew we couldn't make it. There was no effort to accommodate us or show understanding. I was told coldly to contact Booking. A very courteous Booking agent tried to mediate and contacted the property. They said nothing could be done and no refund was available, even if we canceled. The agent awkwardly suggested I write to the host and “appeal to their pity.” I did, and got no reply. This was glacial customer service, with no flexibility or basic respect for guests who booked in good faith and then faced an unexpected problem. That attitude has no place in hospitality. I strongly advise against booking here unless you are willing to risk being left out in the cold over a rigid policy enforced without compassion. I hope people think carefully before trusting this place. No one deserves to be treated this way.

If anything delays you, you may end up sleeping on the street. I'd never expected this after years of staying in all kinds of places. I booked through Booking.com and saw that check-in ran from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. My train was due at 6:20, and I assumed a small delay wouldn't be a problem. Hosts had always been flexible with me before, but this one wasn't. After booking in good faith, I messaged to say I'd arrive a little late. They replied right away, arrogantly, that the 6:00 PM cutoff was strict and that booking meant accepting Booking's terms and conditions. Not even in court... I explained that 6:20 was the train's arrival time and I couldn't change it. They just repeated that the rules were clearly written in the booking conditions. When I got to Turin, I had to look around for emergency accommodation. My request to cancel was refused, so I lost the booking fee as well as dealing with the hassle. If you book here, any delay on the road or public transport that puts you past 6 PM could leave you stranded.

For €120, I expected a clean and hygienic room, but the condition was nowhere near a hotel's standards. It was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. There were towels, but no other basic toiletries or toilet paper, so we had to ask the hotel next door for some. The hot water boiler was disconnected or not working, which meant no hot water in the middle of winter. I also found rust-colored water leaking under the sink and from the shower. The attached photos and videos show it.

I've never had anything like this happen before. I missed their email saying check-in was recommended between 3 and 6 PM, and couldn't use the place even though I'd already paid. They had my phone number but didn't call, and they didn't answer the number they gave me either. Never had a worse experience.
