Executive Hotel Udine

July 2024: I stayed at the Executive Hotel in Udine to meet friends who already had a booking there. Breakfast was included, but I didn't eat any after what happened the first morning. Bugs were on the bread, uncovered food had flies on it and no ice, the juice and milk weren't cold, and the cutlery at my table was dirty. We had to ask for coffee because it was in another room. After a group left, staff reset the neighboring table using the same cutlery. When I raised the issue, I was told it was because of a storm a few days earlier. They offered no fix or suggestion. The food was presented disgustingly, with no care to keep it fresh and safe to eat. On departure morning, the lifts weren't working from early on until at least 9 am, when we left. People, both young and old, were carrying luggage down from the fourth floor, but the desk staff didn't know the lift was out. It seemed the night shift hadn't told the day shift. The reception phone was busy every time I called, so I had to walk downstairs to speak to someone. I would never recommend this hotel.

I know this is an economy hotel, but it still needs to be clean. The curtains were dirty and torn, and the carpet was dusty and filthy. You could feel dust around you. There was mould on the bathroom tiles, which could be a health risk. Terrible place, I don't recommend it.

After flight cancellations, Ryanair arranged this hotel for a large group of us. The room and amenities were decent, and breakfast was included. The staff were happy to answer questions and help us arrange transport. Since Ryanair paid, I can't say whether it was good value. The photo shows breakfast.
