Guest House Cuore del Friuli

Mr. Duilio is the sort of host who makes a stay memorable. He's incredibly helpful and always ready with advice, and that human warmth matters more to me than a luxury hotel's stars. We had a wonderful time and hope to return soon. This is a straightforward, authentic guest house, not a four-star hotel, so anyone looking for luxury should choose somewhere else. It's only a few minutes' walk from the center, on a peaceful street, and parking under the house or in the garage is free. Thanks, Duilio.

The terrace is a lovely place to have the homemade breakfast, especially with the generous glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. I liked the intimate feel and the plants placed around it. The bathroom is outside the room, but directly across from it. We were here a few days ago with our nine-year-old daughter, and parking in front of the building was easy. Mr. Duilio is kind, friendly, and helpful, and makes you feel at home. The rooms have tasteful furnishings, and there's information handy about things to see and do in the city. Breakfast was the highlight: homemade bread and strudel, coffee, milk, yogurt, and freshly squeezed juice made from actual oranges, not those awful substitutes. The room was elegant, with a proper comfortable bed, and the spacious bathroom had everything needed. The place sits just steps from the center of beautiful Udine, and Mr. Duilio treats his guests like family and makes sure they're comfortable. I stand by the five stars and recommend staying here. The apartment is stylishly furnished, and the host is attentive and very friendly. My guest room was lovely and had a private bathroom. Breakfast was generous, with the usual Italian style. I'd definitely recommend going and seeing for yourself.
