The terrace was a highlight, with wonderful views of both the palace and the city, and the double bedroom opens right onto it. The apartment itself is a cozy little gem with a classic feel. Inside, there's a fully equipped kitchen-diner with a sofa bed, a well-hidden washing machine, a bathroom, and a fairly spacious double room. Restaurants, a supermarket, and pastry shops are all within reach inside Urbino's walls, though getting around means going up and down the city's streets and lanes. One small drawback: this attic apartment isn't entered from the square-facing front of the building. You have to go around the back, which means tackling a good climb. At least it gives you a daily workout! The apartment sits at the entrance to the medieval and Renaissance city, in the palace of Doge Federico of Montefreltro, with exceptional views from its Parisian-style mansard attic. The palace itself is a jewel of Italian art, and those views alone make the rental worthwhile. Parking is right next door, underground, covered, or open-air, all public options in the same square of Borgo Mercatale. The private terrace is a real highlight, with a spectacular view. The beds were excellent, even the double sofa bed, and the attic is beautifully furnished with a lovely bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The friendly, courteous manager welcomed us himself and explained everything we needed to know about the property. He also told us about the multi-level public parking directly across the street. A great place to stay in Urbino, highly recommended.

The apartment is fully equipped, and the owner was kind and helpful. Its position above a parking lot comes with an enchanting view, especially from the delightful terrace. But the shower and bathroom need attention. I found the bathroom dirty, with hair on the floor, and the shower stall and tray were very old and dirty. I can't understand how anyone could rent it in that state. I'm leaving this review without photos because I don't want to offend anyone, but people who rent the house deserve to be treated with respect.

It's excellent value for money. The apartment is beautifully furnished and just right for a couple, with convenient, efficient central heating and air conditioning. The whole Ducal Palace view is the standout, and the spacious terrace is great for snacks. You can walk uphill from the apartment or reach the old town entrance in two minutes. The big parking garage underneath can be noisy. A parasol for the terrace and a toaster would be welcome additions.
