Room-casetta Verde - Suite With Terrace

The rooms were close to dilapidated and very untidy, and the breakfast quality was unacceptable. It’s a pity, because the property itself is beautiful, with a nice terrace over the valley, and the location works very well for anyone traveling the Wool and Silk Road. The woman running the B&B was kind and even made us a simple dinner, but the place needs better management and prices that match what’s actually offered. I hope it improves.

We were seven and had agreed to use two separate rooms with their own bathrooms. Instead, when we arrived, we were told without warning that other guests had stayed longer than expected. I suspect that explanation was a complete lie. Six of us were put in a room with only enough space for single beds pushed side by side, while the seventh bed was a sofa in the living room where other guests walked past. The house was extremely dirty and smelled of mold and smoke. All seven of us had to share one bathroom, there was no hot water, and the towels, sheets and blankets were dirty. The owner also asked for a very high deposit. I can only guess it’s because guests might leave once they see what’s being offered. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that this place isn’t available on Booking.com. Avoid it!

The breakfast was just packaged snacks and a thermos of water for tea. I’d picked this place because it was close to the trail I was walking, and the setting really is charming, with an excellent location and magnificent views. But the separate bathroom and my room were both in terrible shape: damp, peeling walls, cobwebs, broken outlets I couldn’t use, and not one lamp in the room. I’d booked by myself, yet there were six beds jammed in with no room to move. The worst part was not being told about any of this in advance. It might be acceptable for someone in an emergency. I paid the same as at other places along the route that were in a completely different, excellent condition, with impeccable service and wonderful breakfasts made from homemade products.

Communication and honesty were completely missing. We’d booked two rooms, but the owner changed the arrangement without telling us. Six of us were put in a room with a bunk bed whose safety seemed highly questionable, and the seventh person had to sleep on a sofa bed in the living room. The room and bathroom were below standard, and there were bed bugs. There was no breakfast at all. The worst experience we’ve had on the Wool and Silk Road. Highly not recommended!
