Sport Club Hotel

We found the location handy, about a 20-minute walk from the center of Bormio, with stunning views along the way. The price for what you get was the best, and I’m sure I’ll come back to the area. The hotel is new and pleasant, with basic furniture but everything you need, and everything worked properly. Staff were generally welcoming and quick to respond when we needed help. There’s a camera-secured garage for bikes and other sports gear, and they let us leave our bike bags there after checkout while we went to Passo dello Stelvio. Breakfast was good, with muesli, cheese, and more traditional Italian choices like brioches, cookies, and cakes.

We’ve just come back from a week in the new apartments, staying in 301 and 101, the largest ones. We were there with three three-year-olds and had a great time. The living rooms are roomy, and we didn’t need the sofa beds. Everything was clean and new, and there was enough parking for our three cars and several more. There’s a restaurant on site, though we didn’t try it. For skiing, the free shuttle gets you to the slopes quickly. A lovely playground and a charming bike and walking path are only a few minutes away. When we contacted the staff on WhatsApp with questions or concerns, they replied and helped right away. We’d happily return and recommend the place. A few things would make the apartments work better. The bedroom closets need shelves, since we had to leave everything in our suitcases. The rooms are small, so more wall hooks for coats would help. The kitchen pots and pans weren’t enough for the large apartment that sleeps up to eight, or the two-bedroom apartment that could hold six. We missed having an oven or microwave, though the dishwashers were much appreciated. The bathroom towel warmers switched off after ten minutes before getting warm enough, so they should stay on longer. We also struggled to figure out the heating, and instructions in the apartment might help. The shared ski and boot room was cold, leaving our boots very cold in the morning, so eventually we brought them into the apartment.

You can add breakfast for €5 per person, which seems fair for the price. There were brioches, tarts, yogurt, cereal, jams, juices, coffee, and a few savory choices. The room is simple and modern, with the basics for winding down after a day skiing or at the spa. The location is very convenient for getting to the center of Bormio and other attractions.

Dinner was offered at a reasonable price and was cooked very well, and breakfast met our expectations too. The hotel had recently been renovated, and everything felt just right. Our room was spacious, the mattresses seemed practically new, and we’d highly recommend it.
