Chalet Apartment Gran Zebrù

Max asked if I’d help promote the apartment with a Google review, and I’m glad to, given how grateful I am to him. Don’t let mine being the first review here sway you, there are 71 reviews for the apartment on Airbnb too. We booked our two-week stay at the last minute, and with the situation at the time there was a lot to sort out. Max jumped in right away to help us work through it. When snow stranded us in Val Müstair on the way, he helped find alternate routes to Bormio. He also shared tips for hiking and mountain bike trails, the best coffee in Italy, and the best patisserie in Bormio. The host alone earns five stars. The chalet is warm, cute, and comfortable. We lit the fireplace every evening, and it really is the heart of the place. The kitchen and dining area fit around it nicely. The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher, induction hob, large fridge, freezer compartment, and a whole lot of pots, pans, plates, glasses, and cutlery. The beds were comfortable, though a bit short for my 1.97m friend. Maybe 1.97m is asking a lot, haha. The soap dispensers in the kitchen and shower are a great idea. We did miss having a balcony, but the row of windows gives you an amazing view of Bormio and the surrounding mountains. We walked down the road to the little village of Oga twice in the evenings, about five minutes away. It has very cute old Italian houses. Across the road there’s a grassy field on the hill where we spent two full days reading. The view felt like something from a movie, a bit like The Sound of Music. If we’re near Bormio again, we’d definitely come back. The location is wonderful, the chalet is warm and comfortable, and Max was so thoughtful and helpful.
