Familyhotel Stegerhaus

A really nice family hotel.

We had a wonderful holiday and plan to come back. The hotel is recently renovated, clean, and well kept, in a green valley with cows grazing around it. It’s close to the main road but not right beside it, so the children could play outdoors safely. Our room was roomy, renovated, and clean, and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and ready to handle requests with a smile. The cuisine deserves special mention. It was excellent and carefully prepared. Drinks were available on tap throughout the day, which we really appreciated, along with afternoon soup, homemade cakes, and hot drinks. The outdoor pool, shared with another hotel, was lovely when the weather allowed. The water wasn’t very warm, though we were lucky to use it all week during unusually hot weather for the area. There wasn’t scheduled entertainment, but it was available on request. My girls made a great little playgroup with the other children. They enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor playgrounds and always felt welcome. Each morning there was a newspaper on the table with the weather forecast, local recipes, and suggested excursions or events for the day. Free bicycles for adults and children were a lovely extra.

The week went by too quickly, and we left with lovely encounters, experiences, and memories. The four of us, aged 39-63, felt completely at home. We were welcomed warmly, and that friendly feeling carried through the whole house. The little surprises with the napkins and bed arrangements delighted us every time. The kitchen deserves 7 out of 5 stars: incredibly dedicated, meticulous, and masterful. We went on to spend a week at the Baltic Sea, which was lovely too, but our time here was simply so much better. THANK YOU! Take care of yourselves and this beautiful corner of the world. Minus: Some guests are odd, but that’s NOT your fault :)

We went for the week of August 15th and couldn’t have picked better. From the start, the staff were smiling, welcoming, and ready with useful information. There was a warm mountain atmosphere, and our spacious room was spotless and had every comfort. We especially liked the large balcony for relaxing after hikes, the simple but thoughtful furnishings, comfortable mattresses and pillows, and the tidy bathroom with everything we needed. The food was a real surprise. Breakfast had plenty of sweet and savory choices, fresh bread, jams, homemade cakes, and excellent local cheeses. Dinner portions were generous, the menu varied, and the fresh ingredients were carefully prepared. Service was quick and friendly, and the bright, welcoming dining room made meals a pleasure to share. Families are well catered for, with outdoor games, children's areas, and attentive staff. The hotel clearly suits people traveling with little ones. The pool was immaculately kept and a real bonus after a day of activities. We rarely experience such a warm welcome and such good quality. Many thanks to all the staff for their professionalism, and to the owner for the courtesy and effort that made us feel at home. We left eager to return. We’d highly recommend it for a relaxing, quality holiday with authentic mountain hospitality. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for everything.
