Pension Moarhof

The warm atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff were so kind and friendly, and our big, clean rooms had everything we needed. The homemade dinners were generous and delicious. Two of us asked for vegetarian meals and got amazing food.

The surroundings look like a painting, and we’ll come back. The family who hosted us were super friendly, the authentic “moarhof” was lovely, and the rooms were very clean. There was a nice playground and a perfect pool. Dinner and breakfast were beautifully prepared and really tasty.

The location is nice, the people were helpful, the rooms were okay, and the price seemed fair. The place itself is nice too, and the pool is a plus, so I might have given it four or even five stars. But I saw something upsetting that made me lower my rating. They keep cows for milk, and there was a calf who looked recently born. The poor animal was in a kind of cage, separated from the cows and, of course, its mother. I didn’t see it outside at any point. I assume this is because it can’t drink its mother’s milk, which may be used for other purposes, perhaps sold for people to drink. It was very sad and gave me shivers. I imagine it’s sad for children to see as well.

The food was amazing, and the people were great. Such a wonderful place to stay, highly recommend.
