I really admired how much the owner puts into this place. He seems to handle everything himself, from breakfast and check-ins and check-outs to helping guests with requests and giving the right information at the right time. He's quick, very kind, and genuinely listens and tries to accommodate you. One of my best hotel experiences.

We stayed for two nights, and the location was great. The person looking after the rooms was very nice too. We had the Jester room, full of curious objects and little details that were fun to look through. The bathroom let things down a bit: the showerhead was broken, some tiles were loose, and a couple of ants seemed to have come in.

The room was really comfortable and warm, and the bed was great. The decor is pretty weird, but the place has a cozy, original feel and is right in the city center. The owner was very pleasant, gave me a complimentary whiskey and a glass of prosecco when I arrived, and brought a personalized breakfast to my room. There's tea and a kettle, plus a mini fridge for cold drinks. He also has adapters for the Italian three-pin sockets, since regular EU plugs don't fit. The only snag was the shower, where some holes are blocked and the pressure comes out unevenly. Easy enough to fix. Everything else was perfect, and I'd highly recommend staying here in Varese.

Our reservation had been confirmed, but the owner suddenly canceled on the day we were due to arrive. We were left without a place to stay for the night, stranded with our 1-year-old son. That was extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place.
