We spent a week here over the Ferragosto holiday. Villa Rita has parking on site, and Punta Penna, the nearest beach, is about 2.1 km away. You’ll need a car or, if you’re up for it, a bike, since there’s no bike path. The beach is beautiful and part of a nature reserve, but parking is limited, so it’s best to arrive early. There isn’t much else near the apartment, which meant relying on the car for everything. There’s a campsite across from the Villa Rita accommodations, though they have no agreement with it. We sometimes heard noise from the rooms, but it wasn’t too bad. The apartment had the basics, but the heat was hard to handle, especially while cooking. Our unit had a ceiling fan, which didn’t do much against the heat from showers and cooking. The kitchen has a microwave but no oven, and there’s no bathroom hairdryer, so bring one. We also had no washing machine in the apartment. The manager said we could ask her for the washing machine keys and use it twice for free, then pay from the third use. Since we usually got back late from the beach, we skipped asking for the keys and did the laundry by hand, which may have taken even longer 😂. The bed was very uncomfortable, like sleeping on the floor. Still, the accommodation was decent apart from those issues. I’d suggest it for a short visit, such as a weekend.

We’ve stayed here for five years, and the apartments are spacious and good value. The kitchen is fully equipped, the furnishings are well chosen, and guests can use a barbecue. It’s close to the nature reserve, so I’d recommend bringing a bike or renting one.

We stayed at Villa Rita from August 1st to August 8th, 2022, and really liked the Vasto area. Maria Grazia was helpful, and some of her tips were spot on. The apartment was comfortable and fairly well equipped, though I found it noisy: cars and trains, plus the glass recycling center and the nearby holiday center. The sea isn’t far, but our particular apartment didn’t have a sea view. Guests on the second floor probably could say they had one. There’s no air conditioning, only a fan, but I bought earplugs and got used to it.

We’ll definitely come back. The apartment was brand new, fully equipped, and just as described, maybe even better. The staff were kind, polite, and helpful. It’s a good place to pause during a long trip, or to stay longer, with the sea and a beautiful beach nearby. Vasto is lovely and lively, with lots of shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, and things to do, including the old upper town, its castle, and plenty of viewpoints. The property itself feels welcoming and peaceful, tucked into greenery and nature, with a cool breeze. Highly recommend it.

We happened to stop at Villa Rita while on holiday heading south, and ended up staying six days instead of one. It was a clean, welcoming place that felt restorative, with friendly management and a beautiful beach nearby. Vasto is lovely too. Those five stars are well deserved.
