Secret Garden - Suites & Apartments

The owner let us in remotely and explained everything over WhatsApp, so we had plenty of privacy and very little interaction. I appreciated that. The apartment is modern, and although ours was in the basement, we didn't notice the humidity mentioned in some negative reviews. The internet and Wi-Fi repeater didn't work downstairs, but we hadn't asked for a fix and took the chance to step away from social media for a while. The tub was awkward for two, since it has only one rounded side to lean your head against. The mini-pool upstairs might be more comfortable, though we didn't have time to book it. The view from the Vasto lookout point is lovely, with the sea and hills spread out below. The entrance is a bit unattractive because it's shared with a house we own, but the neighbors were kind and discreet. 😄

We arrived to find there wasn't even a bottle of water, and the breakfast we'd specifically requested turned out to mean coffee only. The capsules left for us didn't fit the machine. The apartment was roughly cleaned, with spiders in the corners and a used condom bag in the bathroom bin. Although we'd told the owner we had two small children, there was no saucepan for warming milk, just a microwave that was burned and unusable. The basement air was unbearable because of the extreme humidity, despite the apartment's undeniable beauty and wonderful view. On arrival day, the owner didn't answer the phone until an hour after we got there, then opened the gate and room electronically. An experience I'd rather forget!

The owner was every bit as kind and welcoming as the apartment was comfortable. The real treat is the indoor hot tub in the living area, with its panoramic outlook over the sea. The bedroom and lounge are cozy, the kitchen works well, and the bathroom is roomy, with a huge shower that has two shower heads. The home is charming, with a sublime sea view, plenty of comforts, and simple furnishings that still show attention to detail.

The morning view is the part I keep thinking about. On a sunny day, the whole Vasto coast opens up below you, just breathtaking. We also really appreciated the owner's warm, friendly service, and we'll definitely return. The bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen all have thoughtful, original furnishings, and the gentle lighting makes the place feel peaceful. After a day out, the whirlpool makes for a lovely evening. It felt like a stay to experience at least once.
