Le Mansardine

The room was comfortable and the bathroom was small. Everything was spotless, and the woman running the place was friendly. She didn’t speak English at all and wouldn’t use a translation app, which was disappointing. I was also surprised that parking was only on the street. The B&B is across from the hospital, and all the rooms are up three flights of stairs. Breakfast was basic but enough.

My room was spacious, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the cleaning was excellent. Hot water in the shower was unreliable, though. It kept going cold every few minutes before turning hot again. The B&B is right opposite the hospital, so a room facing that way doesn’t have much of a view, despite the “city view” description. The owner speaks no English, so keep that in mind if you don’t speak Italian. We managed with voice translations in Google Translate. The location was pretty good, just outside the main historic centre and less than a 10-minute walk away, with a little grocery shop and pharmacy nearby. Breakfast was reasonable, with a croissant, fruit, and snacks.

We had some trouble finding our way in, and street parking near the hospital is quite an adventure. The owner let us park in front of her garage, which was a big help. This is a cosy little B&B in Vasto, spotlessly clean, well organised, and looked after better than a five-star hotel. We couldn’t recommend it more.

We were only passing through Vasto, so sadly our stay here was just one night. Breakfast was generous and varied, and the property was clean and very well looked after. The owners’ personal style comes through in the room furnishings. They also kindly kept a few things we’d forgotten until we could come back for them. Highly recommended.
