The bathroom was clean and the shower worked fine. We had a common private bathroom, and there were also bathrooms on the floor. For the price, the hotel is a decent bargain in a good location. Transport takes you straight to Venice in under 40min. The heater wasn't working at night, so we froze, though the thick blankets helped. The room also had a hint of cigarette smell that I didn't like. Maybe we couldn't figure out how to use it, but I'd make sure the heater works before arriving.

We arrived at Amba Aladus at 00:00 and had to pay extra. When we asked why, they told us check-in time was 22:40. In the morning we couldn't get outside because the entrance door was closed. The rooms were all horribly bad. There was no air-conditioning and no water, and the situation was very strange. This hotel is very bad.

For the price, it's hard to complain. They say they provide free toiletries, but I didn't get any, and I didn't like the itchy blankets.

The room was basic but the bathroom was clean, and it worked well for a night's sleep. It's close to Venice Mestre station, with easy access on the 6L bus from Venice city bus station or Mestre station. The bus stop is nearby. Google Maps gives wrong walking directions. After getting off the bus, keep going along the same side, then take the first left onto a by-road. I booked at the last minute and felt it was overpriced. You need to pay 10 pct as city tax at the property in cash, on top of what you pay online. If you're checking in after 10.00 pm, call and let them know.
