Hotel Autoespresso Venice

Parking is convenient if you're arriving by car, and getting to Venice by bus is easy. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and they were understanding when we asked for a late check-out. Hotel Auto Espresso was an excellent choice for our visit, with great value for money and a very good price. We'd happily stay here again!

The front desk staff were impatient and unprofessional when we raised our concerns, and they didn't offer a meaningful solution. They said an apology was the only “compensation.” Only after we insisted did they allow a late check-out. When I asked to speak with the manager, they avoided the request and gave us no clear way to reach someone responsible. It felt impossible to find anyone who could properly handle the complaint or take responsibility. We booked a room advertised with air conditioning, but it wasn't working, and we hadn't been told before check-in. The hotel supplied a fan, which I understand was some kind of minimal effort, but it was completely useless. Outside it was around 20°C, while the room reached 27°C. My friend and I couldn't sleep all night. We tried a cold shower to cool down, but the water was extremely hot even at the coldest setting. Shower gel was missing, too. A hotel room has to be suitable for sleeping. Selling a room with air conditioning when it doesn't work, without telling guests in advance, is unacceptable. A fan and a “sorry” aren't proper compensation for a sleepless night. This was a very disappointing and unacceptable experience.

For the price, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and more than decent. The location is very good for visiting Venice on a budget, and we got great value for money. After reading some reviews, we expected less, but the negative comments are clearly exaggerated. We'd definitely stay here again.

The friendly staff, low price, and very good location are the only advantages here. Our room was spacious, but the double bed was two single beds pushed together carelessly, and they split apart during the night. The place could use more care: one window was duck taped, the fridge was empty and there was no drinking water, there were no teaspoons, and the tea bags were very old. A biting tree right in front of the card reader also made the entrance uncomfortable 😬. Breakfast was horrible, just a few pieces of ham and cheese, toast, and a few boiled eggs. We ate elsewhere every morning even though we'd paid for it.
