For the price, the room was frankly awful. Venice itself may explain some of the cost, but don't trust the promotional photos. The room was cramped, and getting around the bed meant squeezing along the wall. It had no natural ventilation. There was a window, but it opened onto a kitchen outlet that smelled of fish. The air conditioning was directly above the bed, so the choice was to get slowly cooked in the heat or breathe that fish smell. After an hour, the room was unbearably warm. There was a kettle and instant coffee, which was hardly a bonus. Check-in was at a different property, where we had to collect the keys, adding another stop after the walk from the station. That was the last thing we wanted before reaching our room. The stay felt tired and past its best, relying far too much on a reputation it hadn't earned. The only romantic part was how relieved we were to leave.

We stayed for one night and found it a good hotel, right in the middle of Venice. Our room was on the first floor. The reception only operates in summer, so check-in is a three-minute walk away.

I was more bothered by being transferred than by the room itself. I had booked another hotel and was sent here, which felt like a bait and switch after reading the other reviews. There was no staff in this building, no lift, and breakfast and other services meant walking five minutes to the other property. The room wasn't the cleanest, but it was bearable for a short stay if the price is right and you just need somewhere to sleep. There was no soundproofing, and the view wasn't great despite what the pictures suggest. I guess that depends on the room, but you can see the pictures below.

My college friends and I stayed here in May 2022, and we were completely satisfied. We wanted somewhere clean, safe, and affordable to sleep, and the four of us had a great time. It was clean, with a clean bathroom and no bed bugs. The hotel has two locations, one being renovated. You pick up your key at that location, then walk a few minutes to the other one. It's in the heart of Venice and felt very safe. If you're young and on a budget, I'd definitely recommend it. Get a SIM card so you can use data and maps around Venice. Cheap ones for Europe are available from Amazon. With a map on your phone, you can walk straight there from the train station. It takes about 30 minutes and is a gorgeous walk.

Don't trust the photos on their website or Expedia, our room looked nothing like them. We paid 240$ for two nights in March and got a dingy, dark room with a shuttered window opening onto a nasty duct chase. The neighbour's bathroom must have vented into it, and that was the only fresh air we could get. There was no front desk. Room service wasn't acceptable, and I couldn't call the other hotel that serves this one from the room phone. For some unknown reason my cell phone couldn't reach them either. That part wasn't their fault, just my bad luck.
