We really enjoyed our January stay, even though it was just one night. The family were welcoming, and the house had a lovely Italian feel. A bus ride of about ten minutes got us to the centre of Venezia.

Getting into central Venice takes a while from here.

The hosts were cheerful and always up for a chat or a bit of advice. Breakfast is included, and with two supermarkets nearby plus a pizzeria-restaurant in the same building, finding food wasn't a problem. The room was medium-sized, with a big wardrobe and a reasonably comfortable bed. Venice is just across the bridge, about 10-15 minutes by bus, and the view from Mestre is impressive. We also took that bus the other way to the Auchan hypermarket, choosing to go in the rain rather than sit around, and found some good deals. It left us with a very pleasant impression. We got a feel for Italy and saw Venice. It's not a bad place to stay.

I struggled to find the place because the Google address was wrong. It's the white detached house on the left, facing the pizza place. Staying here is a nice way to experience an Italian home, though sharing the bathroom was inconvenient, so bring your own water and other supplies. The main pluses for me were the nearby bus stop, the tasty pizza next door, and free parking.
