The rooms stayed quite warm even with the air conditioning on, and service at lunch was poor. We waited 20 minutes to be served in the on-site restaurant, although it wasn't busy and there was only one server. Check-in was also difficult: one guest had lost his passport and was waiting for a replacement, so he presented an ID card. Staff said it couldn't be accepted, which was untrue, and arguing with a customer wasn't professional. For a four-star hotel, this fell short. Three stars seems more appropriate, and based on my experience I can't recommend it.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but the air conditioning barely moved any cool air, making the room uncomfortable. Lunch was another letdown: after being seated, we waited 25 minutes without anyone taking our order. The woman at the desk was very rude when I complained, so I went to reception for help. Danielle tried to resolve it with the manager, but he just smiled and laughed as if it were a joke. At check-in, a staff member wouldn't accept my cousin's ID card after his passport had been stolen, and wouldn't let me explain why he had no passport. It was sorted quickly and the staff member apologized, but the whole one-night stay on May 22nd was disappointing from beginning to end. The staff I dealt with didn't seem professional, and I can't recommend the hotel.

The staff were kind and did a lot to help when my booking through Wowcher turned into a problem. The merchant hadn't paid the hotel, so the receptionist spent ages trying to sort it out with them, though I ultimately had to pay for the room myself. I stayed in August in a clean, comfortable superior room. Someone even brought an iron up when I needed the ironing service. The hotel shuttle to the train station was handy, and Venice was only a short distance away. I really appreciated how warmly and professionally the staff handled a difficult situation.

We loved staying here. Thanks to Luca and Mary, and especially chef Andy, who made all our meals and surprised my friend with a lovely birthday dessert.
