Carebeka Venice

The location really makes this place, just two minutes from the main train station, with trains going all over, including to Venice every five minutes. I was there at the end of August and the price was very convenient too. The room was clean and well kept, much like a hotel room, and there’s a shared kitchen where you can make something when you need to. Soap and towels were provided, and the room was cleaned daily.

The room was very clean, with a large bathroom, and the host was great. There was even a “do not disturb” sign, and they issued a receipt for the tourist tax. The shared kitchen has a gas stove and microwave, so it works for heating food, but there’s hardly any cookware. There was one pot, no frying pan, so boiling eggs was about all you could do, not an omelette. A few details were confusing. The number listed on Booking only sent automatic messages and didn’t answer, while there was a different number in the apartment that could call you. The check-in and check-out times there also didn’t match Booking: it said 14:00-22:00 and 06:00-10:30, but the actual hours were 13:00-22:00 and 05:00-10:30. That could matter to some people. We also had trouble finding the hotel sign and location, and only found the owner by chance near the building.

The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and it felt very safe. There are several good Chinese restaurants right nearby, and the train station is close too. The shower tub needed fixing, though, and the kitchen wasn’t really usable.

I’d specified late check-in when booking, but they left before I arrived and stranded me.
