Hotel San Carlo

The room was okay, though the shower was tiny and there were no USB chargers. What left me uneasy was the transport ticket. I checked into Hotel San Carlo on October 2nd and bought a 48-hour public transport ticket from reception, but there was a strike from the 2nd to the 3rd Oct and nobody warned us. The ticket was useless, disrupting our travel plans and costing us extra. Since the hotel sold it, I feel they should have told us. I expect a refund and clearer communication in future. So far I haven't been offered a solution, only asked to wait until management arrives the next day. I'm open to resolving it and will update this review depending on what happens. The stay itself was acceptable, but this made me feel taken advantage of and lose trust in management.

The location worked well for getting around, with bus stops and tram stations nearby and the train station about a 16-minute walk away. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and both the front desk and cleaning staff were friendly during my stay at Hotel San Carlo from 2025/10/29 to 2025/11/18. Noise was the main problem. A group of young people arrived during my three weeks there and kept visiting each other's doors and talking in the hallway after midnight. I understand being excited about a trip, but the clerk said there wasn't much they could do. They moved me to another room on the same floor, away from that group's side, yet I could still hear them. On multiple nights, the people next door also had loud sex, with moaning and banging hard on the dividing wall. If you need quiet to sleep and this hotel fits your budget, bring earplugs or something to block the noise.

Getting around was easy, with a nearby bus or tram taking you to Venice, and there are restaurants and little shops in the neighborhood. We spent three days here and were very happy with the kind service. The staff suggested plenty of places and travel options. Our room was clean and had lots of towels and a dryer. Breakfast came with plenty of sweet bread. Thanks for everything!

Everything matched the description. Wi-Fi varied by room, with either a good or poor signal. It also kept resetting or doing something odd with Fortinet, which constantly cut off traffic and got really annoying.
