The location is ACE 👍🏼, with easy access to Ventimiglia’s historic centre, Le Calandre and Miramare beaches, the new town and the train station. Communication with the proprietor was great. He replied quickly and offered suggestions. Our double room had a handy kitchenette, though a microwave would have been useful. The bed was very comfortable, and I personally liked the firm pillows. I liked that room number 4 faced the courtyard rather than the street, so there was no street noise. There were plenty of large, good quality towels too. The room and bathroom both felt spacious, with high ceilings, and the AC worked GREAT in the summer heat and humidity. Wifi was excellent as well. A few things were less ideal. Our door rattled whenever another door in the hallway opened or closed, and you could hear suitcases outside when people left. The shower was temperamental, switching from hot to cold quickly and randomly before returning to normal. A few kitchen basics would have been nice, like paper towels and some cooking oil, though it wasn’t a deal-breaker. There was, oddly, a HUGE box of salt in the cupboard. I’d stay here again.

Adorable place, super clean, and the people are really nice. I did hurt my foot on the stairs in room 2. They’re a bit big, and it was dark, so I was in pain for three days. I hope the owners see this and put something like plastic on the stairs.

We booked on Friday for Saturday night. The accommodation is just off the Ventimiglia highway exit, in a beautiful historic building. Everything is handled remotely, with the host sending directions to the room or apartment over WhatsApp or email. They were very kind and available for anything. I also got recommendations for nearby beach resorts by chatting with them. Our 2.5-year-old daughter stayed for free. The place is small but comfortable, modern throughout, and air-conditioned. There were all the comforts of home, and it would easily work for three people. It’s only steps from the center and the beaches, and Monte Carlo is about 20 minutes away if you want to explore. Highly recommended.
