The host’s wonderful smile sticks with you. The place has a lovely charm, and the food is delicious without costing much. It’s the kind of quality that’s hard to come across these days.

We only had one night here at the end of almost a month in Italy, after stays in Sorrento, Rome, bracciano, and Siena. We immediately wished we’d booked longer. The view was breathtaking, and the kids loved the pool, the well-kept AstroTurf football pitch, and getting to see the farm animals. Breakfast was lovely, with cakes and other traditional sweet things, good coffee, yogurt, and warm milk. Our apartment was a renovated section of the building, with two showers and two toilets. There was a double bedroom on the same level as the kitchen and lounge, plus more beds up on a mezzanine that the kids enjoyed. The beds were really comfortable, and it was very quiet. Staff were polite and kind. We usually choose four- or five-star hotels, but this was the highlight of our holiday. The shower pressure was good, and the free Wi-Fi was much faster than at our other places.

I wish I could have stayed longer, and I hope to come back. The Family were welcoming and even drove me to the bus in the morning. Breakfast was generous, with baked sweets and eggs, plus tea or coffee. The view from the deck is excellent, simple as. The dorms feel open, and there’s room to add plenty more bunks, so they shouldn’t feel too crowded even when full. Each bunk has a small pouch at the side for things like glasses or a phone within reach overnight. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, though that’s personal preference, and they weren’t bad. There were few guests while I was there, but the limited number of showers and toilets might be an issue if the place fills up. It’s a bit far from town, and getting to and from there takes time. The walk to Acqui Terme is along a narrow road, though the view on the way is excellent. There’s an occasional bus, but having a car would be a good idea.

The food was fantastic, and the hosts were great. We had a really relaxing time here and enjoyed following their tips for seeing local highlights. We’d happily come back.
