My mapping app couldn't get me to the hotel, so the location was hard to find. Once there, the desk staff were very helpful with directions. The hotel is right by the marina, an area that's still being developed. The rooms seem to all have balconies overlooking it. Ours was nicely decorated and had a mini fridge and safe, and the air conditioning was wonderful during the heat wave. They can arrange parking in the underground city garage across the street. Get your room first so you can collect the parking key, otherwise you'll have to drive out and park again.

A relaxing hotel right on the waterfront, with a good king bed and updated interiors. The shower is small, but it has what you need. The TV has plenty of channels, parking is close by, and there are lots of places to eat. Breakfast is included.

Hotel Sole Mare has earned my five stars. The rooms were spotless, and the warm, organized staff were always smiling and willing to help at any hour. I believe it's family-run, and you can feel the care, pride and personal attention throughout. The view over the Monaco Ports owned Cala del Forte marina is a stunning thing to wake up to, and it's an outstandingly luxurious place to keep a boat. A special thank you to MC, whose charm, intelligence and generous spirit made a great stay truly memorable. She's the kind of person who makes a good hotel unforgettable. I travel all over the world and don't hand out praise lightly. This isn't a courtesy review. If you're near Cala del Forte and looking for somewhere to stay, I wouldn't hesitate. Hotel Sole Mare exceeded every expectation.

The bathroom was unbearably hot, around 100 degrees, with no ventilation. The shower kept switching between hot and cold, and there wasn't even toilet paper. When we asked for an iron, we were told they don't have one because it's hazardous. The AC didn't cool the room properly, and the front desk would switch it off from the desk when they saw us leave the hotel. An extremely bad experience.

The breakfast buffet that comes with the room is super, with pastries, tarts, breads, cakes, pies, eggs, cheeses and meats. The women at the desk are the sweetest, and everyone running the hotel is fabulous. It's clean, elegant and overlooks the marina and the Mediterranean. I love this place and highly recommend it. Just know there's no coffee maker in the room if you're a coffee person.
