The hosts were wonderful and practically adopted us, treating us like their grandchildren. They were always ready with food, advice, directions, or anything we needed, and we had a really great time. The location isn't the most convenient, but the value for money is excellent. The Badger's Den is on a hill above Ventimiglia. The road there is narrow and winding, though even we, with an old car and little driving confidence, got used to it after two days. Take it slowly and it's manageable. The spot works best if you have a car, and Ventimiglia has plenty of free parking. You can walk to town in under half an hour, if you like walking, and Le Calandre beach is also reachable on foot, after a lot of stairs. Our room, Colonel, had a terrace and a large private bathroom outside the room, with a bathtub. There are three rooms in all, plus parking for three cars. The terrace view is spectacular, with just a small glimpse of the sea, and mostly the highway and city. Even so, it's very quiet during the day and at night. The old house is quaint, spotlessly clean, and functional. You can come and go freely. Guests can use the kitchen in the garden, which has everything you need and a fridge. Breakfast can be arranged with the hostess. It's a small hotel-style buffet with cold cuts, cereal, juice, fresh fruit, bread, jam, and more. They'll accommodate intolerances or allergies if you let them know. The place has what you need, and the air is nice for sleeping.

At La Tana del Tasso, you'll find clean rooms, kind hospitality, and owners who are both fantastic and very friendly. They make you feel right at home. We highly recommend staying here.

This quiet, comfortable B&B is up on the Ventimiglia hillside and is mainly accessible by car. Breakfast was excellent and could be adjusted to what you like. The owner was very kind and helpful, and the prices were about average.
