What made this 3-star hotel feel better than a typical stay at that level was Matteo's personal care. He was the one staff member multitasking, and put his heart and soul into making us feel welcome. He shared everything we needed to know, suggested excellent local restaurants, and even let us leave our tandem bike in the space normally used for his Vespa. The hotel is right in central Verbania, close to the lake and surrounded by shops. There are no elevator or private parking, and no kitchen for making a more elaborate breakfast. The breakfast itself was simple but fair, especially given the lack of a kitchen. Our room was clean, though a little dark and in need of better lighting. Housekeeping was generally good, but one night after a late, tiring bike trip we found no toilet paper and nobody at reception. Our email asking for help went unanswered, so we had to look around town for an open shop and luckily found a Carrefour.

It's a good hotel for the price, right in the center of Intra, which has its upsides and downsides. The lake is five minutes away, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Parking is the challenge: you have to arrange unloading so you can park close by, and parking 300m away costs a few euros. The hotel is clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our second-floor room was a good size, with a window facing the patio. The bathroom was a bit old but clean. Breakfast has a somewhat limited choice, but it was tasty and the coffee was good. There's no elevator, which is tricky with a baby cart, though staff help with all the luggage.

The reservation team worked tirelessly to find us a room and handle changes, even during our stay. Thanks, Mateo. All the staff were friendly the whole time, and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated, with even a small fridge.

The room was nice, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Even though it’s right in the town center, it stays very quiet at night since there aren’t roads nearby. Parking lots are close by.
