The view was great and the place itself was okay, but a few management details really bothered me. We got a pile of instructions with nobody there to welcome us or show us how things worked. We wanted to leave around 11am, but were told checkout was at 10am, and then the guy showed up to collect the tax. Booking.com listed check-in as 16:00, so six hours just to clean such a small place? I've stayed in plenty of places like this, especially in Italy, where they leave a few basics such as drinking water, coffee or tissues in case you arrive without time to buy them. Here there wasn't even a tissue. I wouldn't stay again.

It was quiet despite being only a few hundred meters from the bus stop, and the lake view was lovely. The manager was professional and kind, and was always around to answer questions. There was tea, coffee, sweets and other welcome treats, too. A charming place that was clearly well looked after.

We've stayed here twice now and would happily come back. The apartment is great, the contact was friendly, and the location works really well. The public beach is a five-minute walk, while Verbania city center, with ferries to Laveno, Isola Bella and Stresa, is five minutes by car. Lake Mergozzo, a fantastic place for swimming, is about the same drive.
