We found the hotel on Booking.com and called to ask a few questions. The owner said it would be better to pay in cash, but we didn’t have any and didn’t want to take a risk, so we planned to book through the site. When we went back, the listing had vanished. It showed up again about 15 minutes later, this time at a higher price. In the end, we agreed to pay the owner directly. We arrived late, around 10:30 PM, and asked for an invoice. We were told, “No invoice! If you don’t like it, go find another place!” The rooms themselves weren’t bad, and the view was lovely. But there’s no bathroom in the rooms. You have to go out into the hallway to use one. In the morning, the owner unlocked our room and came in with their own key. No warning at all. That was a pretty startling way to wake up. If you’re fine with booking price surprises, an unexpected visit to your room, and shared bathrooms outside the rooms, this may suit you. I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone except my enemy.

Melissa is very kind. The place was nice and very clean, and the price was very good. The view is fantastic.

The house itself was nice, clean, and very quiet. Still, I don’t recommend staying here. Early in the morning, the owner came in without warning and before we had checked out, even though we had until 11 o’clock. It felt disrespectful of our privacy.

The view is good, but there’s no bathroom in the room. You have to go into the corridor to use the toilet. The owner came in early in the morning without warning, before we were even awake. They only accepted cash and didn’t give us an invoice.

After a very long drive from the UK through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, this was supposed to be our first stop so we could sleep. We’d stayed here last year without any problem, so we arrived excited and ready to settle in. But Melissa’s expression made us worry right away. It seemed she’d either double-booked or forgotten our reservation. I don’t know what happened, but this was the last thing we needed after that journey. Melissa and her husband were extremely rude and unhelpful. They didn’t apologize and basically told us to leave. If you book here, be careful, because they may turn you away when you arrive. It put my family and me in a terrible spot. Luckily, we drove around and found HOTEL LE CINQUE Case. They welcomed us, helped us straight away, and gave us and our dog a room as soon as we explained what had happened. It was also much cheaper and nicer than this place. The view was spectacular and even better, and the restaurant food was delicious. I can’t believe what happened this time, and I don’t think Melissa can be trusted.
