Hotel Vercelli Palace

The bed felt old, worn and hard, and the pillows were extremely flat, not fluffy at all. I slept on my stomach or back, but side sleepers may find their neck hurts. My arms went dead several times during the night. Maybe it's because I'm Swiss, but this didn't feel like a four-star hotel to me. Disappointed.

Everything was perfect, though the coffee was so strong and dark that even lots of milk didn't help :D

Breakfast had plenty of choices, but don't expect cooked items like sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon or beans. The price was excellent: we paid about £150 including breakfast for three weekend nights. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable, with fast, reliable Wi-Fi that worked well for my office tasks. One room had an air-con water leak, but we were moved to a better one the same day. The second room even had a nice office chair. We had a lovely view of the fields, though the windows were a bit high, so I couldn't see the landscape while working at the desk. I'm a returning customer and will definitely come back.

The hotel has its own restaurant, but the menu didn't look very interesting, so I drove off to find a proper Italian restaurant. Breakfast and the general price were okay. The employees were kind, though they don't really speak English. The bedroom was a good size, but the mattress was awful, with springs you could feel. Cleanliness was generally okay, but all the shower's silicone joints were mouldy and need replacing.
