Albergo Stella

We came back for dinner six times over three months, and every visit was excellent. We first tried the restaurant after friends, who are millennials and foodies, had raved about lunch there the day before. We're Americans staying nearby for an extended visit and like going where locals eat. We arrived late for lunch the next day, but the staff were welcoming and lovely. Our Italian is limited, but we managed, and Greta was wonderful. The wine at 17e was exceptional. I loved the subtle, tasty pasta conigilo, and the generous mushrooms on the side were flavored with garlic. My wife had tortellini with creamed parmagiano cheese. Friends ordered fresh, subtle lamb, with no salt added, which I prefer, and thought it was much better than American or New Zealand lamb. The bolognese was traditional and perfectly prepared. We were already planning to return for dinner the following day. What a great find, and worth the drive!

Tole, a small town outside Balogna, is where you'll find this restaurant. The food is great, and the people serving you are kind and considerate. They also have excellent wines at very reasonable prices. To me, it's one of the best restaurants in all of Italy. Simply the best.

The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the mountain views are outstanding. The peace here is something you have to experience for yourself. This is a wonderful place for a relaxing family stay, with a long-standing connection to Italian, especially Bolognese, traditions, food, and customs. For anyone looking for authentic traditional Bolognese cooking, this is the best restaurant.
