Even though the little restaurant was closed when I came, the hosts welcomed us so warmly and put out prosciutto, Parmesan cheese, fresh bread, and a lovely glass of wine. It felt like a royal feast, and the moment was so moving and unusual that I'll treasure it. I visited Castello di Vigoleno last November, and the whole experience felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The peaceful atmosphere makes it easy to leave the modern world behind for a while. There’s history everywhere you look, and wandering around felt like a special trip into the past. The architecture is breathtaking, and the countryside around it is so picturesque that I felt like a princess in a storybook. Anyone who loves history, beautiful views, or just wants a quiet escape should make time to visit. Castello di Vigoleno really won me over, and I highly recommend exploring this hidden gem.

We loved how much nature surrounds the castle, and it feels like a romantic place to spend time with your partner. The castle itself is well preserved, and the host is one of the best I've ever met.

There’s a big car park at the bottom of the Borgo, then just a few steps before you're in this lovely place. We packed panino for a day out and ate at a quiet little corner with a view. It was peaceful and relaxing. The town is small but full of history and heritage, and its little streets are so charming.

Staying in an 11th century castle is hard to beat for a romantic getaway. The rooms have been fully modernized, and continental breakfast comes with the stay. A memory we'll cherish.

The castle village was fascinating to explore on foot. Our room was within the walls in a building in the village, rather than in the castle itself. We felt the hosts were unfriendly when we arrived, as if my wife and I were interrupting their smoke break to check in. Breakfast was very sparse, the worst we had in all of Europe. They made the coffee with a single serve Keurig machine.
