Vernazza Luxury Apartment

So clean, with a renovated bathroom and lovely authentic pieces. It was a beautiful experience staying in this simple Italian room overlooking the street.

We spent around €400 for two nights, which makes this stay especially frustrating. A few days earlier we'd paid about the same for a 5-star hotel with breakfast and a spa. Being centrally located in Vernazza doesn't justify this price when the services are so poor. The bed was on a slope and creaked loudly whenever we moved. The pillows were uncomfortable too, and it was hard to sleep. We might have left after the first night, but after paying so much, we didn't want to spoil our vacation. The two half-towels smelled bad, as if they hadn't been washed properly. In a double room, there should also be somewhere to hang both towels after a shower. Noise came through the walls constantly, even when people were speaking normally, so we couldn't sleep. The hot water ran out after my shower, before my husband could take his. We were told it would return in 10 minutes, but after 30 minutes there was still no hot water. I understand that places in Vernazza may charge a lot without guaranteeing quality, and I'll leave it at that. I absolutely don't recommend this place. The price just isn't worth what you get. Update: the provider recently granted us a partial refund, though it hasn't been definitively forwarded yet.

The staff were courteous and friendly, and the central location was convenient. But being so close to the station meant train noise kept me awake at night during my weekend stay in August 2024. The stairs up to the room were quite a challenge, and I missed having a TV when the weather wasn't very good.
