Doubletree By Hilton Acaya Golf Resort Lecce

We came for three nights of golf, but a few things would keep my husband and me from returning. After lunch, there’s nowhere to get food until 7pm, which isn’t great when you’ve been out golfing all day. The rooms let in every sound from around you, and we only got one bottle of water for the whole stay. Once that was gone, more cost 2 euro a bottle.

The food situation was a catastrophe. There was nothing to eat between breakfast and dinner, and dinner service was very unprofessional. Staff took plates while people were still eating, and it took hours for the food to start arriving. Service in general felt lacking too, as the personnel didn’t seem very interested in helping guests, especially for the price. The rooms were really nice, and the golf course, spa and swimming pool were all top notch. A great stop for golfing, but I have mixed feelings about the place.

It’s quiet and peaceful, with lovely nature all around, and we had a great time. The breakfast was amazing and the staff superb. The facilities are fantastic, though I would have liked AC or a screen on the balcony door. Keep in mind the place is far from other restaurants and bars, and the ones on site close at their usual time. I didn’t play golf or try the spa, but it was a fantastic stay overall.

The hotel was very expensive. The golf was good and the clubhouse lovely, with excellent staff and food. But the bar and restaurant staff were rude. At night there’s only one restaurant, it’s a la carte, and the food was very poor.
